How to export your data from New Relic

New Relic doesn't have a single 'export all data' button. You export per-dashboard (as JSON, PDF, or PNG) and per-chart (table charts as CSV) from the UI, or pull raw telemetry in bulk as JSON via the NerdGraph historical data export API if you're on a Data Plus plan.

Step by step

1Go to one.newrelic.com > All capabilities > Dashboards
2Open the dashboard you want to export, click the ... icon in the top-right corner, and select Download dashboard
3Choose JSON (to re-import elsewhere or archive queries/layout), PDF, or PNG (visual snapshot) as the output format, then click Download
4For a single table chart's underlying data, click the ... icon in that chart's corner and select Export as CSV
5To get raw event/metric data beyond the 5,000-row UI query limit, use the NerdGraph API's historicalDataExportCreateExport mutation with your NRQL query and account ID
6Poll the export status via the 'get details for export' NerdGraph endpoint using the export ID returned in step 5
7When status is complete, download the results from the pre-signed URL(s) returned in the response (JSON files)
8Repeat per dashboard/query - there is no single account-wide export

What the export includes

✗Live data or data from the preceding 12 hours (historical export requires the time range to end at least 12 hours in the past)
✗Aggregated results - the historical export NRQL cannot use aggregation functions, FACET, TIMESERIES, JOIN, subqueries, or cross-account queries
