How to export your data from Miro
Miro doesn't offer a single 'export my whole workspace' button. Instead you export board-by-board as JPG/PDF/SVG images or CSV text, or download a .rtb board backup file for archiving or transferring boards between paid teams.

Step by step
- 1Open the board you want to export in a browser (Chrome, Safari, or Firefox) or the Desktop app - export is not supported on mobile.
- 2Click the vertical three-dot (...) icon in the top-left corner, then open the Board submenu.
- 3Open the Export submenu to see available options: Save as image, Save as PDF, Export to spreadsheet (CSV), and Download board backup.
- 4For a visual copy: choose Save as image (JPG/SVG) or Save as PDF, select the area/frames and file size (Small, Medium, Large, or Vector), then click Export.
- 5For the board's text content: select a frame or content, click the three dots on the context menu and choose Export to CSV, or use Export to spreadsheet (CSV) from the Export submenu for the whole board.
- 6For a full archived copy of the board: choose Download board backup and follow the prompts to save the .rtb file (available from the board itself or from the three-dot menu on a board in your dashboard).
- 7Check your browser's default download folder, or the Downloads folder if using the Desktop app, for the exported files.
- 8Repeat per board - there is no bulk 'export all boards' option in these menus, so large workspaces need to be exported one board at a time.
What the export includes
- ✓Visual content of the board (shapes, stickers, text, sticky notes, images, tables) as JPG/PDF/SVG
- ✓Text from sticky notes, tables, cards, text boxes, and shapes as CSV (text, card description/URL, and sticky note/card tags, in that order)
- ✓Table structure is preserved when exporting a table specifically to CSV
- ✓Full archived board data in the .rtb backup file, restorable into another paid Miro team
What it doesn't include
- ✗Comments are not included in image, PDF, or CSV exports
- ✗Frame titles are not shown in the exported document (only text widgets are)
- ✗Voting results are not exportable (only a screenshot is possible)
- ✗CSV export does not preserve overall board structure or relationships between elements, except for tables
- ✗PPT and PNG formats are not supported for board export
- ✗High-resolution export without a watermark is not available on the Free plan
Before you start
- ⚠Board export can be disabled entirely by the board owner in board content settings, blocking collaborators from exporting even if their plan/browser supports it
- ⚠CSV export isn't supported in Opera or Edge below version 79, and isn't supported on tablet or mobile devices at all
- ⚠Board export is not supported for boards in developer teams
- ⚠Export is not supported on mobile devices for any format
- ⚠Only board owners/co-owners (or Enterprise admins with Content Admin rights) can download .rtb backups once a board is in a paid team
- ⚠Large boards/frames can fail mid-export (missing text in the PDF); Miro recommends splitting large boards before exporting
- ⚠Vector-quality PDF/SVG is needed to keep links clickable; Small file size PDFs strip embedded links

FigJam has no native Miro-file importer. Exported PNG/PDF/SVG images can be dragged onto a FigJam board as reference/background images to manually rebuild content; CSV text has to be copy-pasted into new sticky notes by hand.
tldraw only imports its own .tldr file format. Miro's JPG/PDF/SVG exports can be inserted as static reference images on a tldraw canvas, but shapes and text need to be redrawn/retyped manually.
Excalidraw
Excalidraw only imports .excalidraw JSON files. Miro's image/PDF exports can be added as a background image to trace over, but there's no automatic conversion of Miro objects into editable Excalidraw elements.
Exporting from Miro: common questions
Can I export my entire Miro workspace at once?+
No. Miro's Export menu works per board - there is no single-click option to export every board in a workspace at the same time; each board must be exported individually as an image, PDF, or CSV, or backed up as an .rtb file.
What file formats can a Miro board be exported to?+
JPG, PDF, and SVG for a visual copy, CSV for the text content, and .rtb for a full board backup file.
Are comments and voting results included when I export a board?+
No. Comments are not included in any export format, and voting results can't be exported - Miro's own FAQ suggests taking a screenshot instead.
Do I need a paid Miro plan to export my data?+
Basic image and CSV export work on the Free plan (with limits like small-size-only images and a watermark on high-res output). The .rtb board backup download requires a Starter, Business, Enterprise, or Education plan.
Why don't I see the export option on a board?+
The board owner may have disabled export in the board's content settings, or your plan/browser/device combination may not support that export type - board export isn't available on mobile at all, and CSV export doesn't work in Opera or old Edge versions.
Who is allowed to download a board backup?+
Any user can restore a backup into a paid team, but only the board owner, board co-owner, or (on Enterprise) a Company Admin with Content Admin permissions can download a backup of a board that lives in a paid team.
