How to export your data from Wistia
Wistia lets you download your original video/audio files from the Video Library and export analytics (account, folder, channel, and per-video stats, plus audience/lead data) as CSV files from each respective Analytics page. There is no single one-click "export everything" tool — video files and analytics are downloaded separately, page by page.

Step by step
- 1Log in as an Account Owner or Manager.
- 2To download video/audio files: go to the Video Library, hover over a title and check the box next to it (or check the box next to the total media count to select all), then click "Download" in the bulk actions bar that appears at the bottom of the window.
- 3To export account-wide analytics: click "Analytics" in the account sidebar, set a timeframe/data type/tags, then click "Export" on the Top Media or Top domains chart.
- 4To export account-wide trends: on the Trends page, set your filters, scroll to the bottom, click "Export Stats to CSV," and choose whether to export only the videos/folders shown or all of them.
- 5To export audience/lead data: go to the Audience page in account analytics, choose the identified-leads or entire-audience tab, and click the Export-as-CSV button at the bottom of the page.
- 6To export folder-level analytics: open the folder, click "Analytics," scroll down, and click "Export."
- 7To export channel-level analytics: open the channel, click "Analytics," then click "Export."
- 8To export analytics for one video: open the media, click "Analytics," pick the Embed, Engagement, or Conversion tab, set a date range, and click "Export" next to the relevant report.
What the export includes
- ✓Original uploaded video/audio media files
- ✓Account-wide Top Media / Top domains performance CSV
- ✓Account and folder Trends CSV (plays, engagement, etc. per video/folder)
- ✓Audience/viewer CSV (identified leads and/or full anonymous audience)
- ✓Folder-level analytics CSV
- ✓Channel-level analytics CSV, including podcast-specific data if podcasting is enabled
- ✓Per-video Embed location report, plus Engagement and Conversion analytics CSVs
What it doesn't include
- ✗No single account-wide backup/export — each report or media selection must be downloaded individually
- ✗Data from before November 1, 2020 is not available through the current stats system used for these exports
- ✗Embed codes, player customization/branding settings, and integration configurations are not covered by these CSV exports
- ✗Users without folder-level download permission cannot download media files even if they can view them
Before you start
- ⚠Most analytics only cover data from November 1, 2020 onward — older stats aren't included in exports.
- ⚠On the Trends export, specifying a date range only updates the "Plays over Date Range" column; it does not filter the other columns in the CSV.
- ⚠Only Account Owners and Managers can see the "All media" tab in the Video Library, which you need to locate and bulk-select every file for download.
- ⚠Downloading files is a bulk-action feature (select checkboxes, then use the bulk actions bar) rather than a dedicated "export account" button — there's no single button that exports both media and analytics together.

Upload the downloaded original video files directly through YouTube Studio's bulk upload; re-add titles/descriptions manually since Wistia's metadata isn't packaged with the file download.
Upload the downloaded video files via Vimeo's web uploader or bulk uploader; recreate any embed settings, since Wistia embed/player configs aren't included in the file download.
Cloudflare Stream
Upload the downloaded MP4/original files through the Cloudflare Stream dashboard or API; re-create playback/embed settings from scratch.
Bunny Stream
Upload the downloaded video files via Bunny Stream's library upload UI or API; import the exported analytics CSVs separately into your own reporting/BI tool if you want to keep historical performance data.
Exporting from Wistia: common questions
Can I export all my Wistia videos in one click?+
There's no single account-wide export button. You download files from the Video Library by selecting them with checkboxes and using the bulk actions bar's Download option, so very large libraries may need to be done in batches or per folder.
Does Wistia let me export viewer/analytics data as CSV?+
Yes. Wistia provides CSV export buttons on the Account Overview, Trends, Audience, Folder, Channel, and individual media Analytics pages, covering plays, engagement, embed locations, and viewer/lead data.
How far back does my exported analytics data go?+
Most exports pull from Wistia's current stats system, which only covers data from November 1, 2020 onward, so anything older won't appear in your CSV exports.
Who is allowed to download video files from a Wistia account?+
By default only Account Owners and Managers have full access, since they're the only ones who can view the "All media" tab; other invited contacts need folder-level download permission granted to them to download files.
Does the Wistia export include my embed codes or player customizations?+
No. The CSV and media file exports cover video files and performance analytics, not embed code configurations or player branding/customization settings — you'll need to recreate those in whatever platform you move to.
Can I export just my identified leads instead of all viewers?+
Yes. On the account Audience page you can switch between tabs for identified leads or your entire audience before clicking the Export-as-CSV button.
