How to export your data from Webflow

Webflow lets you export your site's HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and image assets as a ZIP file (paid Workspace plans only), and export any CMS Collection, Ecommerce Collection, or User Accounts list as a CSV file from the CMS panel. The static code export does not include your CMS, Ecommerce, or Membership data — those must be exported separately as CSV.

Step by step

1Open your site in the Webflow Designer
2To export code: open the Main menu (click the 'W' logo, top-left) and choose Code export, or press Shift + E
3Click Prepare ZIP, then Download the ZIP file (contains HTML, CSS, JS, and images)
4Optional: before preparing the ZIP, press Command+O (Mac) or Control+O (Windows) and check Minify HTML for a minified export
5To export CMS data: open the CMS panel, click the name of the Collection you want to export, then click Export to download a CSV of every item (including archived items)
6To export only some items: select items in the Collection list with Select, then click Export to download just those rows as CSV
7Repeat the CMS export per Collection, and separately for Ecommerce Collections and User Accounts, since each exports as its own CSV
8Switch locale view before exporting if you need CSV data for a locale other than the current one, since each export only includes the active locale

What the export includes

✓Code export: all site pages as .html files, a CSS folder (custom styles, webflow.css, normalize.css), a JS folder, and an images folder with assets from the Assets panel

✗Pre-existing form submissions aren't in the code export but can be exported separately

Before you start

⚠Code export is a Workspace-plan feature — Site plans alone don't include it, even if the individual site is on a paid Site plan
⚠You can't select what's included in a code export — every exportable part of the site is bundled into each export
⚠CSV export only pulls items from the currently selected locale view, so you must switch locales and re-export for each one
⚠CMS import (for reuse elsewhere) caps CSV uploads at 4 MB per file
⚠Image/file URLs in CSV exports point to your original Webflow site's hosting — if you delete that site, those links (including images embedded in rich text fields) break
⚠Updating items via CSV re-import doesn't apply to Ecommerce items — those use a separate product/variant import flow

Create a new site, set up matching Collections, then use the CMS panel's Import feature to upload your exported CSV files and map columns to fields; note code export itself still requires a paid Workspace on the destination account.

Framer

Alternatives Webflow vs Framer

Use the exported HTML/CSS/JS as a visual reference while rebuilding pages in Framer's editor; Collection/CMS data needs to be re-entered or mapped through Framer's own CSV import for its CMS, since Webflow's exported code doesn't carry CMS bindings.

Carrd

Carrd is single-page and doesn't accept HTML/CSS imports, so use the exported Webflow code only as a content/design reference and rebuild the page's text, images, and links manually in Carrd's builder.

Exporting from Webflow: common questions

Can I export my Webflow site for free?+

No. Code export (HTML/CSS/JS/assets ZIP) is only available on paid Workspace plans — Site plans alone do not include it, per Webflow's help docs.

Does exporting my Webflow site include my CMS content?+

No. CMS, User Accounts, and Ecommerce content (databases) are not included in the code export. Collection lists show an empty state and Collection pages show no bound content in the exported code.

Will my forms and site search still work after I export?+

No. Site search and forms (including file upload and reCAPTCHA) stop working on exported sites to comply with GDPR; you'd need a third-party form integration on your new host.

Can I export my Ecommerce products and orders?+

Products can be exported as CSV the same way CMS Collections are, but the code export itself does not include Ecommerce functionality or databases.

What happens to password-protected pages after export?+

They lose their protection. Password protection only works while the site is hosted with Webflow, so exported/self-hosted pages are no longer protected.

Can I move my exported CMS data into another Webflow site or platform?+

Yes for another Webflow site — CSV exports can be re-imported into a new site's Collections. For other platforms, you'd need to reformat the CSV to match that platform's import requirements, since Webflow's export format (including image/file URLs pointing to the original site) is Webflow-specific.
