How to export your data from Typeform

Typeform lets you export form responses as CSV or XLSX from each form's Results > Responses tab, download a Results Summary as CSV, and (account owners only) request a full account ZIP from Admin settings containing form structures (JSON) plus Org/Workspace/member lists (CSV).

Step by step

1Open the form from your Workspace, click Results, then Responses
2Select all responses (checkbox in header row) or specific/filtered/searched responses, then click the Export icon
3Choose CSV or XLSX format and click Export
4For files sent via a File Upload question, select 'File uploads only (.zip)' instead, then click Export
5Download the file directly, or open the emailed 'Download responses' link if the export is large and takes time to prepare
6For a full account-level export, click your account button (top left) > Admin settings > Request ZIP; you'll receive an email with a ZIP containing form structures (.json) and Org/Workspace/member lists (.csv)
7To export a Results Summary instead of raw responses, go to Results > Summary, apply filters if needed, click Share > CSV under 'Download as', then Export and Download file (link expires after 24 hours)

What the export includes

✓Form responses/answers per question, plus Start Date, Submit Date, and Network ID columns
✓Uploaded files from File Upload questions (as a separate .zip)
✓Results Summary statistics (counts, percentages, mean/median/std dev depending on question type)
✓Form structure and questions ('typeform definitions') in JSON, from the account-level ZIP or the Create API
✓Org members, Workspaces, and Workspace members with their roles (CSV, from the account-level ZIP)

What it doesn't include

✗Uploaded images inside form definitions are not included in the account ZIP export
✗Open-ended text responses (Short text, Long text, etc.) are excluded from the Results Summary CSV export
✗Full response sets cannot be exported as PDF; only a Response Summary or individual responses can be saved as PDF via browser print
✗A specific/partial selection of uploaded files can't be bulk-downloaded from the Responses tab (only from the Summary tab)

Before you start

⚠Exports must be done from desktop; the mobile builder cannot export responses
⚠Large response exports are prepared asynchronously and sent via an email download link instead of downloading immediately
⚠Only the account Owner can click 'Request ZIP' for the full account data export; the button is grayed out for everyone else
⚠The Results Summary CSV download link expires after 24 hours, requiring a new export if missed
⚠Form structure exports via the Create API must be done one form at a time
⚠Data can only be retrieved from forms/responses that still exist; once a form or its results are deleted, they cannot be recovered
⚠For thousands of responses, Typeform recommends the Google Sheets integration (up to 1,000 existing responses can be synced) or using the emailed export instead of direct download

Tally

Tally has no direct Typeform importer; rebuild the form manually in Tally and use the Typeform CSV/XLSX export as your historical response archive.

Google Forms

Google Forms doesn't accept an external CSV/XLSX as response history; recreate the form in Google Forms and keep the exported Typeform CSV/XLSX in Google Sheets as your archived data.

Formbricks

Formbricks has no built-in Typeform import; rebuild the survey structure in Formbricks and retain the exported CSV/JSON from Typeform for historical response records.

Exporting from Typeform: common questions

Can I export all my Typeform responses at once, or only per form?+

Response exports (CSV/XLSX) are done per form from that form's Results > Responses tab. The account-level 'Request ZIP' export in Admin settings covers form structures, Org/Workspace/member data, but not the actual response answers.

What format are my Typeform responses exported in?+

You choose CSV or XLSX (Excel) when exporting from the Responses tab. Full account data (form definitions) downloads as JSON, while Org/Workspace/member lists in that same ZIP are CSV.

Can I export my form's questions/structure, not just responses?+

Yes, via Admin settings > Request ZIP (account owner only), which includes form structures as .json files, or via the Create API for one form at a time.

Are file uploads included in the export?+
