How to export your data from Salesloft

Salesloft's self-service export covers People (prospect/contact) records as a CSV file, built from the People page or from inside a Cadence, with standard plus custom fields, delivered as a download link by email. There is no single one-click export of your entire workspace (calls, cadences, templates, analytics are handled separately or not exportable at all).

Formats: CSVPlan: Not plan-gated in the documentation — governed by user permissions, not subscription tierRole: Any role with the 'Export People' permission enabled (on by default for the standard Admin and User roles)

Step by step

  1. 1Log in to Salesloft and go to the People page (or open a specific Cadence if you only need people tied to that Cadence).
  2. 2On the People page, filter and sort the list to the exact view you want to export — filters only apply on the People page or a Cadence's People tab.
  3. 3Click Export in the upper right corner of the page.
  4. 4In the 'Your Export' window, search for and select which standard fields and custom fields to include in the CSV.
  5. 5Click Export to start the job.
  6. 6Wait for the email notification telling you the export is ready.
  7. 7Open the email and click the link to download the CSV file.
  8. 8To export only the people in one Cadence, open that Cadence and use the People Actions dropdown (or the Cadence's People tab) to choose Export People — note this shortcut only exports people currently working the Cadence, not ones who already completed it.

What the export includes

  • ✓People/contact records with all CSV standard fields (name, email, title, etc.)
  • ✓Any custom fields you've created on the person record
  • ✓People currently active in, or previously imported into, a filtered People view or Cadence People tab

What it doesn't include

  • ✗Call recordings, conversation transcripts, or dialer/email activity logs (no bulk self-service export button in the product)
  • ✗Cadence steps, sequence logic, templates, or automation configuration
  • ✗People who already completed a Cadence, if you use the Cadence overview 'Export People' shortcut instead of the People page/People tab
  • ✗Analytics/reporting data (documented separately from the People export, not part of the same CSV)
  • ✗Account/company records as a distinct export object beyond what's attached to a person record

Before you start

  • ⚠You must have the 'Export People' permission on your role or the Export button won't appear at all
  • ⚠Filters can only be set on the People page or a Cadence's People tab — the Cadence overview export shortcut has no filtering
  • ⚠The Cadence overview 'Export People' action excludes anyone who has already finished that Cadence
  • ⚠Exports aren't instant downloads — Salesloft emails you a download link once the file is ready
  • ⚠There's no single 'export everything' job — reconstructing a full workspace means running separate People exports per view/Cadence

Where to take your data

Free and cheaper tools that can take a Salesloft export. See all Salesloft alternatives →

HubSpot (Free CRM)

Import the People CSV via HubSpot's Contacts import tool, mapping Salesloft's standard and custom fields to HubSpot contact properties; sequences/cadences must be rebuilt manually since Salesloft doesn't export Cadence logic.

Twenty (open-source CRM)

Self-host Twenty for free and use its CSV import on the People/Companies object, mapping columns from the Salesloft People export.

Apollo.io

Use Apollo's free-plan CSV import to load the People export as contacts, then manually recreate outreach sequences since cadence steps aren't part of the Salesloft export.

Exporting from Salesloft: common questions

Can I export all my Salesloft data in one file?+

No. Salesloft's documented export is a People CSV built from the People page or a Cadence's People list — there's no single 'export entire workspace' button, so you'll need to run separate exports per view/Cadence to cover everyone.

Do I need admin access to export People from Salesloft?+

No, any user whose role has the 'Export People' permission enabled can export — this permission is on by default for standard Admin and User roles, but if it's disabled you won't see the Export button.

Can I export call recordings or conversation transcripts?+

Salesloft's People export only covers contact records, not calls or conversations — there's no documented in-product bulk export button for recordings.

How do I get all people from a Cadence, including ones who already finished it?+

Don't use the Cadence overview 'Export People' shortcut — it only captures people currently working the Cadence. Instead, export from the Cadence's People tab or the main People page with filters set to that Cadence.

How long does a Salesloft export take?+

It's not instant — Salesloft processes the export and emails you a download link when the CSV file is ready, rather than downloading directly in the browser.

What file format does Salesloft export to?+

CSV. You choose which standard and custom fields to include before generating the file.
