How to export your data from NocoDB

NocoDB lets you export table data as CSV either directly from a view's toolbar Download menu, or via the built-in Data Exporter extension, which generates the file in the background and lists it under Recent Exports for you to download.

Step by step

1Open the base and go to the Grid view of the table you want to export.
2Quick option: click the "..." icon in the view toolbar, choose Download, then select the file format from the dropdown.
3Full-control option: open the Data Exporter extension and select the table and the associated view you wish to export.
4In the expanded extension panel, configure the Separator (Comma is default; Semicolon, Pipe or Tab are also available) and Encoding.
5Click the Export button — the export runs asynchronously so you can keep working while it processes.
6Once export completes you'll get a notification; find the file listed in the Recent Exports section.
7Click the Download button/icon next to the file to save the CSV to your local device.
8Repeat per table/view — each export only covers the single table and view you selected.

What the export includes

Before you start

⚠Exported files are automatically removed after 6 hours, so download them promptly.
⚠Export processing happens in the background; you're notified once the file is ready rather than getting an instant download.
⚠Data Exporter's Separator and Encoding settings are only accessible from the expanded extension panel, not the collapsed view.
⚠Because export is scoped to one table/view at a time, backing up a full multi-table base means repeating the process for every table.
