How to export your data from Loops

Loops lets you export your audience (contacts) as a CSV file at any time, either the full audience or a filtered subset using filters and segments; there is no built-in export for email templates, campaigns, or workflow configurations, so those must be recreated manually in a new platform.

Formats: CSVPlan: Any plan (export feature is not plan-gated in the docs)Role: Not specified in docs (any team member with Audience page access)

Step by step

  1. 1Log in to Loops and go to the Audience page (app.loops.so/audience).
  2. 2Optional: narrow down the contacts you want using filters or a saved segment, e.g. by campaign opens/clicks, subscribe date, or email domain.
  3. 3Click the ••• menu icon in the top right of the filter box.
  4. 4Select Download from the menu.
  5. 5Loops generates a CSV file of the current filtered audience (or your whole audience if no filters are applied).
  6. 6Save the CSV file locally; it contains one column per contact property.
  7. 7Repeat with different filters/segments if you need separate exports for different lists or groups.
  8. 8Manually document any email templates, transactional email templates, and workflows you want to keep, since these are not included in the CSV export and have no documented bulk-export option.

What the export includes

  • ✓All default contact properties: Email, First Name, Last Name, Notes, Source, Subscribed, User Group, User Id
  • ✓Any custom contact properties you've added to your audience
  • ✓Only the contacts matching the filter/segment applied at export time (or the full audience if none applied)

What it doesn't include

  • ✗Email templates and campaign content
  • ✗Workflow/automation configurations
  • ✗Transactional email templates and send history/logs
  • ✗Integration configurations (e.g. Zapier, Auto BCC, Supabase)
  • ✗Account/billing settings

Before you start

  • ⚠Export is CSV only; there is no JSON or full account/workspace export documented.
  • ⚠You must build filters or segments manually to split the export into meaningful lists (e.g. by campaign engagement, subscribe date, domain) — there's no single 'export everything with tags' option.
  • ⚠Loops has no documented bulk-import API for contacts, so if you're migrating contacts into Loops from elsewhere this works via CSV upload, not API.
  • ⚠Saving a filter as a segment first is recommended if you'll need to re-export the same audience slice later, rather than redoing the filter each time.

Where to take your data

Free and cheaper tools that can take a Loops export. See all Loops alternatives →

Upload the Loops CSV as a new contact list in Brevo's contact import tool, mapping the Email, First Name, Last Name and custom property columns to Brevo attributes.

MailerLite

Use MailerLite's 'Import subscribers from CSV' flow, mapping Loops' default and custom property columns to MailerLite fields and groups.

Resend's Audiences feature accepts CSV contact imports; map Email and name fields, then rebuild any transactional templates manually since those aren't in the CSV export.

Exporting from Loops: common questions

Can I export all my Loops data at once, including templates and workflows?+

No. The only documented export is a CSV of your contacts/audience. Email templates, workflows, and transactional templates have no documented bulk-export feature and must be recreated manually in your next platform.

Is contact export limited to certain Loops plans?+

The official export docs don't mention a plan restriction — the CSV download is described as available for your audience at any point, without tying it to a specific plan tier.

Can I export only a subset of my contacts, like people who opened a specific campaign?+

Yes. You can apply filters (e.g. opened a campaign, clicked a link, subscribed after a date, email domain) or save them as a segment, then export just that filtered group as CSV.

What columns will be in the exported CSV?+

One column per contact property: default properties (Email, First Name, Last Name, Notes, Source, Subscribed, User Group, User Id) plus any custom properties you've created.

How do I re-use the same export criteria later without rebuilding filters?+

Click Save segment on your filtered audience so you can re-select that same group for future exports instead of recreating the filter each time.

Does exporting contacts also export my sending domain and DNS records?+

No, contact export only covers audience data. Loops has a separate DNS zone file export for deliverability/sending domain records, which is a different feature from the contacts CSV.
