How to export your data from Later
Later has no single full-account or workspace export. You download Media Library files individually (bulk only via the iOS app) and export analytics as separate CSV files per platform and per section from the Analytics dashboard, with Scale-plan Custom Analytics adding more file-type options and scheduled report deliveries.

Step by step
- 1Log in to Later for desktop at app.later.com.
- 2To save media: go to your Media Library or side library, select a photo or video, right-click it and choose 'Save Image As...' — desktop downloads are one file at a time and medium resolution only.
- 3For bulk or full-resolution media, use the Later mobile app instead: on iOS go to Media, tap Select, choose multiple files, and tap the download icon; on Android you can only save one image at a time via the 3-dot menu > 'Save to Camera Roll.'
- 4To export analytics, go to the Analytics tab for the platform/section you want (requires Starter, Growth, or Scale — not available on Free).
- 5Set the date range for that section, then select 'Export CSV' — each section (Overview, Audience, Post Performance, Story Performance, Hashtag, Link in Bio, etc.) downloads as its own separate file.
- 6Repeat per platform and per section — there is no single 'export all analytics' button.
- 7On Scale plans, use Custom Analytics for more options: hover over a chart/metric, click the vertical 3-dot icon, select Download, name the file, choose a file type and row limit, then download.
- 8Scale plans can also schedule recurring report deliveries by email instead of exporting manually each time, via the chart's 3-dot menu > Schedule delivery.
What the export includes
- ✓Original media files from your Media Library (JPG/PNG images, MP4 videos)
- ✓Per-section analytics as CSV: profile growth/discovery, audience engagement/demographics/location, post performance, Story performance, hashtag performance, and Link in Bio interactions (documented for Instagram; similar CSV export exists for other connected platforms like LinkedIn)
- ✓Scale-plan Custom Analytics charts/reports exported in a selectable file type with a configurable row limit
What it doesn't include
- ✗No single full-account, workspace, or 'export all data' file — exports are per media item or per analytics section
- ✗No documented bulk export of scheduled posts, captions, or your content calendar for Later's Social plans
- ✗Charts/graphs themselves can't be exported as image files — only the underlying data via CSV (screenshot the chart if you need the visual)
- ✗Analytics CSV export is not available on the Free plan
- ✗High-resolution media — desktop 'Save Image As' only gives medium resolution; full resolution requires the mobile app
Before you start
- ⚠Desktop media download is manual and one file at a time — no bulk/zip download is documented for Later for desktop
- ⚠Android app can only save one image at a time; multi-select bulk download is iOS-only
- ⚠Each analytics section must be exported as its own CSV — there's no combined, one-click export
- ⚠CSV export requires Starter plan or higher; legacy accounts started before July 1, 2025 may need to upgrade to get access
- ⚠Scheduled/recurring report deliveries and alerts require a Scale plan; Starter and Growth are manual-export only
- ⚠Custom Analytics filters (platform, handle, tags) reset on page refresh, exit, or sign-out and aren't saved — reapply them before exporting
Where to take your data
Free and cheaper tools that can take a Later export. See all Later alternatives →
Re-upload your downloaded media files to Buffer's content library; since Later doesn't export captions or a content calendar, you'll need to manually recreate upcoming scheduled posts in Buffer.
Publer
Upload exported media into Publer's media library and rebuild your posting schedule manually; use your exported analytics CSVs as a historical performance record since Publer's own analytics only track data from the connection date forward.
Metricool
Connect your social profiles directly to Metricool for ongoing analytics, and keep your exported Later CSVs as an offline archive of historical performance that Metricool won't be able to backfill.
Exporting from Later: common questions
Can I export everything from my Later account in one go?+
No. Later doesn't offer a single account or workspace export. You download media files individually (or in bulk via the iOS app) and pull analytics as separate CSV files per platform and per section.
Can I export my scheduled posts, captions, or content calendar?+
Later's help center doesn't document a bulk export feature for scheduled posts or captions on its Social plans, so you'd need to copy that information manually before canceling.
What file formats does Later export data in?+
Analytics export as CSV files. Media exports as the original image (JPG/PNG) or video (MP4) files.
Do I need a paid plan to export my analytics?+
Yes. CSV export requires a Starter, Growth, or Scale plan and isn't available on Free; scheduled/recurring report deliveries require Scale.
Can I get high-resolution copies of my images before I cancel?+
Only through the mobile app. Later for desktop's 'Save Image As' only saves medium-resolution copies.
