How to export your data from JotForm
JotForm lets you export form submissions as CSV, Excel, or PDF directly from Jotform Tables (per form), and download uploaded file attachments separately from Jotform Inbox; there is no single all-account export button — you export one form's table at a time.
✓ Verified against JotForm's official documentation, October 2026
Step by step
- 1Go to My Workspace and open the form whose submissions you want to export.
- 2Click Submissions at the top of the form to open Jotform Tables (or open the form directly in Jotform Tables).
- 3In Jotform Tables, click Download All in the upper-right corner of the page.
- 4Choose Download as CSV, Download as Excel, or Download as PDF. CSV and Excel downloads start automatically; PDF generates a zip file that is emailed to your registered email address.
- 5To export only specific entries instead of the whole table, tick the checkboxes next to the submissions you want first, then click Download All.
- 6To also get uploaded files, go to Jotform Inbox, select the submissions (or use Download All), click the three-dot icon next to the Inbox tab, click Download, then choose Download as Attachments.
- 7Repeat these steps for each individual form — export in Jotform is per form/table, not a single bulk account export.
What the export includes
- ✓All submitted field values/answers for the form (CSV, Excel)
- ✓One PDF document per submission, zipped and emailed (PDF export)
- ✓Uploaded files from File Upload fields, zipped (Attachments export, Jotform Inbox)
What it doesn't include
- ✗Form design/HTML structure (downloaded separately as an HTML file, not part of the submissions export)
- ✗Uploaded files/attachments are not included in the CSV, Excel, or PDF exports — they require the separate 'Download as Attachments' action
- ✗A single combined export across all forms in the account — each form's table is exported individually
Before you start
- ⚠PDF export does not download directly in the browser; Jotform builds a zip file and emails it to your registered account email, which can take time for larger submission volumes.
- ⚠Download as Attachments only works if the selected submissions actually contain File Upload fields with uploaded files — otherwise Jotform shows an error and nothing downloads.
- ⚠CSV/Excel downloads 'may take a moment' to generate depending on how many submissions the form has.
- ⚠Export is scoped to one form (one Jotform Table) at a time, so multi-form accounts need to repeat the process per form.
- ⚠You can filter by a custom time frame or specific entries before exporting if you only need a subset of submissions.
Where to take your data
Free and cheaper tools that can take a JotForm export. See all JotForm alternatives →
Google Forms
Google Forms has no feature to import past submissions from another tool. Open the JotForm CSV export in Google Sheets to keep it as your historical response record, then rebuild the form fields manually in Google Forms going forward.
Tally
Tally does not support importing historical submissions either. Keep the JotForm CSV/Excel export as your archive, and recreate the form structure in Tally's builder for new responses going forward.
Exporting from JotForm: common questions
Can I export all my JotForm data for every form at once?+
Based on JotForm's documented export process, no — export happens per form through Jotform Tables' Download All button. There is no single button in these guides that exports every form in the account in one action, so you need to repeat the CSV/Excel/PDF download for each form.
Does the CSV or Excel export include uploaded files (attachments)?+
No. CSV, Excel, and PDF exports contain the submitted field data only. To get the actual uploaded files, use Jotform Inbox's 'Download as Attachments' option, which zips the files from File Upload fields.
Why didn't my PDF export download in the browser?+
PDF exports aren't instant downloads — JotForm packages the submissions as individual PDFs in a zip file and emails it to the address on your account, so check your inbox rather than your browser's downloads.
Can I export just some submissions instead of the whole table?+
Yes. In Jotform Tables, tick the checkboxes next to the specific entries you want, then click Download All and pick a format — only the selected rows will be exported.
Is exporting submissions free, or does it require a paid JotForm plan?+
JotForm's export help pages don't mention a plan requirement for CSV, Excel, or PDF downloads — the Download All option in Jotform Tables is shown as a standard feature available to users managing their forms.
What's the easiest way to keep using my old JotForm data after switching tools?+
Export each form's submissions as CSV/Excel for your records and as Attachments for any uploaded files, then open the CSV in a spreadsheet tool like Google Sheets as your permanent archive, since most alternative form builders don't support importing historical responses.
