How to export your data from Hootsuite
Hootsuite lets you export your scheduled/past scheduled posts as CSV (any plan with Planner access), and Enterprise Super admins can additionally export a full organization-wide CSV of all published posts within a date range via Account Settings.
✓ Verified against Hootsuite's official documentation, September 2026
Step by step
- 1Go to Planner, then select the Content tab
- 2Select Scheduled or Past Scheduled (past scheduled exports only cover the last three months of activity)
- 3Optionally filter the list by social account
- 4Select the checkbox next to individual posts, or use the top checkbox to select all
- 5Select Export to, then choose one of the four CSV formats (including a Google CSV format for importing into Google Calendar) and a date format
- 6For a full org-wide export (Enterprise only): go to My profile > Account settings, preferences, and billing, then select Data Exporting
- 7Select a date range and select Download to get a CSV of all posts your organization published from Hootsuite
What the export includes
- ✓Scheduled and past scheduled post content and metadata in CSV format
- ✓Organization-wide export (Enterprise): a CSV of all posts published from Hootsuite within a specified date range
What it doesn't include
- ✗Images/attachments are not included in scheduled post export files
- ✗Analytics/reports, Inbox conversations, and Impact data require separate export tools (not part of this CSV export)
- ✗The org-wide export is limited to Enterprise plans; other plans cannot pull a full account-level export
Before you start
- ⚠Exporting posts does not edit or delete the scheduled content itself
- ⚠Past scheduled post exports only include the last three months of activity
- ⚠When importing CSV exports into Google Calendar, each file must have a unique file name, and duplicate rows won't import
- ⚠The organization-wide export requires Super admin or the custom 'Manage Archives' permission, and is gated to Enterprise plans; other users should contact their customer success manager to port data
- ⚠Export files from the Planner do not contain images
Where to take your data

Review your exported CSV of scheduled posts and manually recreate/reschedule the content in Buffer's composer, since Buffer does not offer a direct Hootsuite CSV import.
Later
Use the exported CSV as a reference to manually re-add captions, dates, and social accounts into Later's calendar, as there is no native Hootsuite CSV importer.
Publer
Use the CSV of past/scheduled posts as a source list to manually rebuild your content calendar in Publer, since it doesn't natively ingest Hootsuite's export format.
Exporting from Hootsuite: common questions
Can I export all my Hootsuite data at once?+
Not on all plans. Only Enterprise Super admins (or members with the 'Manage Archives' permission) can export an organization-wide CSV of published posts by date range from Account settings, preferences, and billing > Data Exporting. Other users can only export scheduled/past scheduled posts from Planner.
What format does Hootsuite export data in?+
CSV. Scheduled/past scheduled post exports offer four CSV format options, including a Google CSV format meant for importing into Google Calendar.
Does the export include images from my posts?+
No. Export files from Planner do not contain images.
How far back can I export past posts?+
Past scheduled post exports contain only the last three months of activity.
Will exporting my posts delete or change them in Hootsuite?+
No. Exporting posts does not edit or delete the scheduled content in your account.
I'm not on Enterprise — how do I get a full account export?+
Hootsuite's help documentation notes you can contact your customer success manager, who can help port data from your account, since the self-serve organization-wide export is limited to Enterprise plans.
