How to export your data from Attio

Attio lets workspace admins generate a full workspace backup (a zip of CSV files covering records, lists, notes, tasks, and more) from Workspace settings, while any member with view access can export an individual list or view as a CSV or Excel file directly from that view.

Step by step

1Click your workspace name in the upper-left of your account and select 'Workspace settings'.
2On the General tab, find 'Export Workspace data' and click 'Start new export'.
3Wait until the export reaches 100% completion (it's generated on demand, not instant).
4Click the download icon next to the finished export to download the zip file of CSVs.
5For a single list or view instead of the whole workspace: open the view, make sure the table/kanban columns show every attribute you want, click 'Save for everyone' so applied filters are included, then click 'Import / Export' in the top right.
6Choose 'Export view as CSV' or 'Export view as Excel' and download the file.
7Optional (admins): in Workspace settings > Security, toggle 'Protect CSV exports against formula injection' if you need that safeguard, or 'Disable data exports for non-admins' (Enterprise) to lock down exports first.

Before you start

⚠Workspace exports are generated asynchronously on demand — you must wait for the job to reach 100% before the download icon works, there's no instant download
⚠Only admins can trigger a full workspace backup; regular members can only export the individual lists/views they can see
⚠Enterprise admins can flip a setting to disable data exports for non-admins entirely, which would block regular members from exporting views
⚠An optional 'protect against formula injection' setting adds a prefix to text values in CSV exports, which changes their format and can break downstream processes that parse those files if left on
⚠Enriched/auto-populated fields never appear in any export, so plan to re-enrich records in your next tool rather than expecting that data to carry over

Do I need a paid Attio plan to export my data?+

No. Workspace backups and list/view exports are available on all plans, including the free plan.

Can any team member export data, or only admins?+

Any member with view access can export a list or view as CSV/Excel. Only workspace admins can trigger a full workspace backup export, and Enterprise admins can further restrict exports to admins only.

Will my emails come with me if I export from Attio?+

No. Emails cannot be exported from Attio in any format.

What happens to call recordings in the export?+

The workspace export only includes call recording metadata, not the audio, video, or transcripts. Full recordings must be pulled separately via Attio's API.

Why are some columns blank in my exported CSV?+

Attributes populated by Attio's automatic enrichment cannot be exported and will show as blank cells; only data you entered manually is included.

Can I export just one list instead of my whole workspace?+

Yes. Open the list or view, click 'Import / Export' in the top right, and choose 'Export view as CSV' or 'Export view as Excel' to download just that data.
